Dot The Archdiocesan Adult Confirmation Program is designed for practicing adult (18+) Catholics seeking preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation, who have been baptized, have received their first Holy Communion and have been educated in the Catholic faith through catholic schools or parish religious education programs. It's offered at various times at Staten Island, Manhattan and Newburgh.

Dot Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Formation Course Level I begins on Saturdays beginning September 6, 2014.  The course includes material presentations, catechist's album and materials for Level I and will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Parish, Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Dot Each year, the third Sunday of September has been designated by the US Catholic Bishops Catechetical Sunday. This national celebration honors those involved in catechetical ministry. This year it is celebrated on Sunday, September 21, 2014 with the theme: Teaching About God's Gift of Forgiveness.

Dot Congratulations toBishop-Elects our three new bishops of the Archdiocese of New York.  They are Bishop John Jenik, pastor of Our Lady of Refuge Parish in the Bronx, Bishop John O’Hara, vicar for planning, and Bishop Peter Byrne, pastor of St. Elizabeth Church in New York City. They were ordained on Monday, August 4, 2014, at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Our prayers and support are with you!
